“A man may have to die for our country: but no man must, in any exclusive sense, live for his country. He who surrenders himself without reservation to the temporal claims of a nation, or a party, or a class is rendering to Caesar that which, of all things, most emphatically belongs to God: himself.”

“In your own strength, O man, what can you do? Delight yourself in God. Why should you fret? But pray her eyes as jewels are fitly set on seeking God instead of seeking you. Unfaithful men are many, faithful few,so place your faith in God, and then forget she is someone you meet or may have met, and so you shall be faithful to her, too. But when the Lord has willed your eyes to shift in faith, and she shall stand within your sight, then raise her up in thanksgiving, and lift up holy hands to hold her in the light so you may know how precious is your gift, and every way you turn her eyes is right.”

Daily Devotions 10/12/10
So I’m reading Psalms and Proverbs for the next year or so with the youversion.com reading plan. I figure if I get some good insights I’d post them.
This morning I read Psalm 46 and Proverbs 15. Here is what stuck out for me.
Stop striving and know God. He will be exalted. He tears down the house of the proud. Before honor comes humility.
Psalm 46:10, Proverbs 15:25,33
I’m a little behind so I may post more later for today.
“What does it mean to be a Christian? Your life is hid with God in Christ. You are bought with a price; you are no longer your own. You have no time of your own, no money of your own. …Christ must become your complete master.”
—Leonard Ravenhill
I deleted all of my posts, I am starting this blog over.
That is all…for now.
